Jackson Meshanic (pictured) delivered the best performance of his short time with the Dragons to lead our Championship Men to their first win of the Big V season at Boroondara Sports Complex on Saturday night.

With his parents, Peter and Sarah, who are visiting from the United States, watching on, the American forward closed with a 25-point, 13-rebound double-double as Camberwell pulled away in the second half for an 85-69 win against visiting Warrandyte.

Ayuel Ayuel added 15 points, six rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals, Ben Crowe found his range after a rough start to the season to finish with 15 points (3-of-5 from the three-point line) and Riley Simmons had 13 points and eight rebounds in 17 productive minutes.

Warrandyte's Lanyc Shuler led all scorers with 33 points but the Venom couldn't keep up with its host in the second half. The Dragons put together a 30-point third quarter to turn a tied game at the half into an 11-point lead with one to play and built on it the rest of the way.

Next up for the Dragons is a 12pm date with Bellarine at Drysdale today (Sunday).

In the early game at BSC on Saturday, our Youth League Men led from start to finish in a 91-74 win against visiting Westgate.

Noah La Combre had a team-high 17 points and seven rebounds for the Dragons, who set up their win with 47-25 first half and never looked back. Jesse Macleod added 12 points and nine boards and Matt Marcun had 13 points and six assists for Camberwell, which improved to 5-1.

Our Youth League Women have a 12pm date with unbeaten Frankston (6-0) at Balwyn High before our Division 1 Women tip things off against Craigieburn at 2pm.

Camberwell Basketball Mental Health Awareness Week (April 26-May 2, 2026)

Camberwell Basketball will hold its inaugural Mental Health Awareness Week from Sunday, April 26-Saturday, May 2. This initiative has been designed to shine a light on an important issue that affects so many people within our community and features four outstanding speakers presenting over two nights, Monday, April 27 and Thursday, April 30. These free sessions are open to all members of the Camberwell Basketball Community, including players, coaches, referees, administrators, Partners and their families.
