Camberwell Basketball provides opportunities for all athletes to reach their full potential and to compete at the highest possible level. Our basketball program enables players to practise and improve their skills with our coaches and to contribute to a strong sense of team and sporting community.
Developing our junior players is integral to Camberwell Dragons’ success.
We understand the importance of developing our players and giving them the opportunity from a young age to learn from a range of coaches within the club. Our Development Squad runs every week during Term 2 of the school year, except on public holidays. It is best suited to players aged 8-11 who’ve played some domestic basketball and are looking to improve their skills and get a taste of “representative basketball-style” training. This program is not suitable for beginners.
Our Term 2 2024 Girls Development Squad assembled at Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College for the first time on Monday, April 15 (6pm-7pm) and the program will continue every Monday night until June 24. There will be no session on Monday, June 10 – King’s Birthday.

Our Term 2 2024 Boys Development Squad assembled at Kew High School for the first time on Wednesday, April 17 (6.30pm-7.30pm) and the program will continue every Wednesday night until June 26.

Players in our Under 12 and Under 14 Dragons teams are offered the opportunity to attend a Camberwell Development Program with their teammates and coach. For older age groups, the development program allows for individual registration.
For players to improve their game, additional work is required away from their Friday night game and team practice sessions. This program allows players to do just that.
