Oscar Kapakoulakis led all scorers with 19 points and Zac Bezzina closed with 17 points, four steals and three assists as Camberwell secured its place in the Big V Youth League 1 Men competition with a 94-65 win against Whittlesea at Altona Sports Centre on Sunday night.
Kapakoulakis made seven of his 10 field goal attempts and added six steals, while Josh Kohlman had 10 points and eight rebounds in 16 productive minutes for the Dragons, who outscored the Pacers 55-31 across the second and third quarters and never looked back.
It was an impressive performance by Camberwell, which hit back to qualify for Youth League 1 Men play after opening its Qualification Series with a 66-58 loss to Pakenham at the same venue earlier in the day. Matthew Marcun with a team-high 10 points in that one for the Dragons.
