Camberwell Dragons made an impressive start to their campaign at the Foot Locker Under 14 Club Championships in Casey today, rolling to a 75-55 win in their tournament opener against WA team Cockburn Cougars.
Jake Zeunert had an equal game-high 24 points, including six three-pointers, to pace the Dragons, who had five players score seven points or more.
"A great start for our campaign," coach Conor Mathews told Dragons Media. "We set the tone early with our defensive physicality and pressure, and spaced the floor well to hit shots."
Bailey Russell added 16 points for Camberwell, which will be back at work again on Sunday afternoon. The Dragons play Canberra at 3.30pm before shifting their focus to a Monday showdown with Sydney team Norths Bears.
