CAMBERWELL BASKETBALL

Interest in Camberwell Dragons grows every year, and more than 1100 athletes from across metropolitan Melbourne and country Victoria participated in our October 2024 tryouts.

Representative basketball is played on Friday nights across the state. Our program provides dedicated basketball players with the opportunity to develop skills and progress along the player pathway.

Our teams commit to practice twice each week, typically one midweek and one Sunday morning session. Players are expected to engage in additional fitness and skill development work in their own time.

Representing the Dragons is not something that comes easily. Players must demonstrate the skill, potential and commitment required to play at junior representative level and embrace the values of our Association and its culture.

For more information about the Junior Dragons program, please refer to our 2024-25 Player and Parent Handbook HERE.

Tryouts for Dragons teams take place in September/October, with VJBL competition running from mid-November to the following September. To support athletes in making the transition from domestic to representative basketball, we offer several programs to help build the skills and confidence of our youngest players. These include our Dragons Development Squad and other development programs.
