Camberwell Dragons are celebrating another history-making achievement today with news our Under 14.1 Boys will compete at the 2024 Foot Locker Under 14 Club Championships in September.
The Dragons, led by head coach Conor Mathews, secured their place in the field for the prestigious event after making an excellent start to the Victorian Championship (VC) season. They reached the halfway mark of their campaign with a 7-2 record and will enter the school holiday with a 1-2 record in VC Championship play (8-4 overall).
This trailblazing group is the first-ever team from Camberwell to qualify for the championships and will feature among the 24 best club teams in Australia at the September 21-27 event at Casey.
Today's announcement continues a tremendous few weeks for Camberwell Basketball and the Dragons program, after our 12.1 Girls and 16.1 Boys teams broke through to win the club's first-ever National Junior Classic medals at this month's edition of the event in Melbourne.
Both teams walked away from Dandenong with bronze medals, while the 14.1 Boys closed their Classic campaign with four straight wins to finish ninth.
We'll have more to share about our 14.1 Boys and their achievement here and on our social media platforms throughout the day.
Congratulations to players, coaching staff and to all who've played a part in making this achievement possible.
