Lawrence Lam, the founder and Managing Director of Melbourne-based global equities firm Lumenary Investment Management, will be the guest speaker at the Camberwell Basketball Partners Networking Evening (October 14).

Lawrence is also the author of "The Founder Effect" (Wiley, 2025), which explores why founder-led companies outperform and what investors and business owners can learn from them.

Before founding Lumenary in 2017, Lawrence spent two decades in investment banking, financial regulation and transaction advisory across Deloitte, MUFG, Royal Bank of Scotland and APRA. He also co-founded and exited a legal firm and has guest lectured at the University of Melbourne.

Long before the boardroom, Lawrence played for the Camberwell Dragons. And it was on the basketball court that Lawrence developed many of the lessons in teamwork, resilience and performance that have helped shape his career.

On October 14 at The Terminus, he will return to Camberwell to share his journey from court to boardroom. The evening will include drinks and canapés and provide plenty of opportunity to meet and connect with fellow members of the Camberwell Basketball community and enjoy an evening of conversation, networking and hospitality.
