DRAGONS NOTEBOOK
Our Champ Men (8-10) enter this week’s road-home double (against Sunbury and Keysborough) in eighth place and with four games left to play in their regular season. Keysborough (16-2), Hume City (15-3), McKinnon (13-5), RMIT (10-8) and Pakenham (10-9) make up the top five … Camberwell’s Sean Conway leads the Champ Men division in scoring (31.2ppg) and rebounding (12.5rpg) … Dragons guard Trent Andre is second in assists (8.6apg).
……………………………………………………………………………………
The road beckons for our Division 1 Women, who have a date with Mildura at the Hothouse on Saturday night. The Dragons improved to 8-8 with a 64-37 win against Collingwood at BSC and have the postseason in their sights. They’ll wrap up their regular season commitments with a road game against Western Port on July 26.
……………………………………………………………………………………
Our Youth League Men (11-10) host league-leading Ringwood in their regular season finale at Balwyn High School on Sunday and can then shift their focus to the YLM1 finals. The Dragons are in sixth place, a game behind Ballarat and Bulleen. Ringwood (18-3) leads the competition from McKinnon (16-5) and Pakenham (16-5).
……………………………………………………………………………………
Our Youth League Women (14-7) close their regular season on the road against Collingwood on Saturday night. The Dragons are in fifth place and headed for the playoffs – win or lose – but have plenty to play for, with a top-three-finish still within reach. Third-placed Geelong United (14-6) opens the final weekend of its regular season at home against Hume City before travelling to Albury Wodonga, while fourth-placed Coburg (14-6) closes with back-to-back home dates against Eltham and Hume City … Dragons forward Zoe Johnson is well placed to claim the YLW1 rebounding crown. She leads in the league in that category with 13.3rpg.
