– McQueeney finished with 12 points and eight rebounds as our Championship Men fell to visiting Shepparton at Boroondara Sports Complex on Saturday night.

– Conway, in only his second outing with the Dragons, put up 30 points, 10 rebounds and four steals in a road loss at Keysborough. That haul coming less than 24 hours after he marked his Camberwell debut with an 18-point, 13-rebound double-double against Shepparton.

– Jeffers led the way with 16 points (including three three-pointers) and three rebounds as our Division 1 reversed their early season loss to Whittlesea with a 69-57 win against the second-placed Pacers at BSC on Saturday night. The Dragons stretched their winning streak and closed the round in fourth place (5-3).

– Lingwood-Smith reeled in 12 rebounds and handed out three assists to go with 17 points as our Youth League Men cruised to a 100-74 road win against Blackburn. He was one of four double-digit scorers for the fourth-placed Dragons, who improved to 7-4.

– Johnson claimed her third Player of the Week award after closing with a game-high 25 points, eight rebounds and four assists for our Youth League Women, who couldn’t keep up with Geelong United on the road.

– And Grossman had a team-high 23 points (7-of-16 from the three-point line) as the Youth League Women bounced back from their loss at Geelong to take care of business against Wyndham at Eagle Stadium. The Dragons improved to 7-3 and are in fourth place, behind Knox (11-0), Coburg (9-2) and Geelong United (7-2).

Tonight’s action at BSC tips off at 5pm, with our Division 1 Women hosting Whittlesea, and our Champ Men going head to head with Shepparton at 7pm. Tickets available at the door.

Our Youth League Men play Blackburn on the road at Mullum Mullum tonight, while our Youth League Women open a busy weekend on the road against Geelong United this afternoon before backing up for a Mother’s Day match-up with Wyndham at Eagle Stadium tomorrow.

– Bacon finished with 10 points and nine assists as our Youth League Men fell on the road at Ringwood on Sunday, while Macleod was rewarded for his 24-point, 13-rebound double-double after the YLM took care of business against visiting Coburg at Boroondara Sports Complex (BSC) on Saturday night.

– Jessica Del Brocco put up 19 points (including five-three-pointers) and four rebounds for our Youth League Women, who couldn’t hold off Coburg in the second half at BSC on Saturday.

– Hart had 13 points for our Championship Men, who lost on the road at McKinnon on Saturday.

– And Viney closed the weekend with 19 points, eight assists and five steals as the Champ Men hit back from their loss to McKinnon to beat Wyndham on the road.

Dragons Culture

Club Culture & Leadership Coordinator Trevor Rowe will host an Information Night for Camberwell Dragons team managers and parents/guardians on Monday, May 26 (7pm-8pm).

This night will be a great opportunity for team managers and parents/guardians to meet Trevor, and to learn about the work he’s doing at the Dragons in his Culture and Leadership role and as a member of the organisation’s Child Safety Committee.

He will be available to answer questions throughout and at the end of his presentation, and attendees are urged to provide Trevor with feedback that will assist him and the club in our efforts to drive the Dragons program forward in these very important areas.

Big V weekend recap

Mike Reeves led all scorers with 24 points, Lachlan Viney finished with 19 points, eight assists and five steals, and our Big V Championship Men held on for a 94-90 road win against Wyndham at Eagle Stadium on Sunday.

Reeves (pictured) added seven rebounds and two blocks, and Trent Andre handed out five assists to go with 13 points for the Dragons, who completed a 1-1 split of their weekend’s work after falling to league-leading Mackinnon at GESAC on Saturday night.

In other Dragons Big V action over the weekend:

• Jesse Macleod registered a 24-point, 13-rebound double-double as our Youth League Men rallied from four down at three quarter-time to hold off Coburg for a 77-73 win at Boroondara Sports Complex on Saturday night. The YLM finished 1-1 for the weekend after finding Ringwood too hot to handle at The Rings on Sunday. The Dragons are fifth on the YL1 Men ladder with a 6-4 record.

• And our Youth League Women started well but couldn’t hold back Coburg in the second half at BSC on Saturday night. Sophie Jones paced the Dragons with a 22-point, 14-rebound double-double, Zoe Johnson pulled down 25 boards and Jessica Del Brocco aded 19 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Youth Men rally late to turn back Giants

Dragons forward Jesse Macleod (pictured) led the way with a 24-point, 13-rebound double-double as our Youth League Men rallied in the final quarter to turn back Coburg in their Big V clash at Boroondara Sports Complex on Saturday night.

Matt Marcun added 14 points and seven boards in the 77-73 win. Next up for our Youth League Men (6-3) is a 12pm Sunday road date with second-placed Ringwood (7-2) at The Rings.

In other Dragons Big V action last night:

• Coburg finished with a big second half to beat our Youth League Women 76-64 at BSC. Sophie Jones led the Dragons with a 22-point, 14-rebound double, Jessica Del Brocco added 19 points and three steals, and Zoe Johnson dominated the glass to finish with 25 boards.

• And our Championship Men had a tough night on the road against league leader McKinnon. The Cougars won its 100-85. Mike Reeves closed with 15 points and six rebounds to pace the Dragons and Ben Crowe added 15 points. The Champ Men are in action again today at Wyndham, with that one getting under way at 2pm.

Dragons Game Day

It’s game day for your Big V Dragons, and we’ve got a special double header on the cards at Boroondara Sports Complex tonight.

Our second-placed Youth League Women (6-1, third in YLW1) will be shooting for their third straight when they tip things off against visiting Coburg (7-1, second) at 5pm, while our Youth League Men (5-3, fifth in YLM1) also have a date with the visiting Giants. That one scheduled for 7pm.

• This weekend’s Dragons Big V Game Day program, with YLM guard Ace Adama on the cover, is online now. Click or scan the QR Code on display at BSC tonight to get yours.

• To give yourself a chance to win great prizes in our in-game competitions at BSC tonight, remember to register at the table as you enter Court 2.

In other Dragons Big V action this weekend, our Championship Men play McKinnon at GESAC tonight (7pm) before going head to head with Wyndham at Eagle Stadium on Sunday afternoon (2pm). And our YLM also have work to do on Sunday. They’ll call on Ringwood at 12pm.

Camberwell Dragons congratulate our Big V Players of the Week – Mike Reeves, Anna Burrows, Ace Adama and Zoe Johnson, proudly supported by The Terminus.

– Reeves (pictured) collected his second Player of the Week award in as many rounds after putting up his third straight double-double (25 points and 13 rebounds) for our Champ Men in the Dragons’ home loss against Melbourne University on Sunday.

– Burrows went to work with a season-high 35 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals as our Division 1 Women held off Melbourne Uni at Balwyn on Sunday to improve to 4-3. That performance won her a place on the Big V’s All-Division 1 First Team.

– Adama had 11 points, four rebounds and two assists as our Youth League Men fell on the road at Bulleen.

– And Johnson had an 18-point, 12-rebound and four-steal double-double as our Youth League Women took care of business against Hume City at Broadmeadows.
