CAMBERWELL BASKETBALL

They’re With Us

They’re With Us

The holidays are done, and our Dragons are back to breathe fire again.

To celebrate the start of the new basketball year, our good friends at Eastside Nutrition are offering all Dragons’ families 10% off their full range of drinks, including smoothies and juices, until the end of the week.

All you have to do is show up in your team colours, tell Minh and his team the Dragons sent you and you and your accompanying family members will get 10% off.

This offer must end at the close of business on Saturday, January 31.

• Eastside Nutrition is a Camberwell Basketball Partner and you can find them at 23-25 Burwood Highway, Burwood.

Let’s go, Dragons

Our 16.3 Girls closed Day 3 at the Eltham Dandenong Tournament with an unblemished record and will be looking to stay perfect when they step out in the semi-finals on Monday.

For more photos and tournament updates, follow the Dragons on social media. Remember to send your team news, photos and/or videos to [email protected] or [email protected]

Have a great weekend, Dragons, and stay cool out there today. It’s going to be a hot one.

Band Together

Camberwell Dragons are urging our players, coaches and officials to wear blue armbands in support of Basketball Victoria’s (BV) Road Safety Round.

BV has partnered with the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) to support a new road safety initiative that will see tens of thousands of grassroots and elite sportspeople join its mission to save lives and prevent injuries on the state’s roads.

Minister for Roads and Road Safety Melissa Horne joined the TAC and leaders from BV, Cricket Victoria and Football Victoria last month to launch the expanded program, which will engage more than 1700 sporting clubs statewide.

As part of the initiative, BV’s Road Safety Round (January 19-February 1) is under way, with players, coaches and officials encouraged to wear blue armbands to Band Together for road safety awareness and in recognition of those impacted by road trauma. And as our teams prepare to return to the court this week, we’re calling on all Dragons to get involved.

Dragons team managers and/or coaches can collect a roll of blue tape from the Camberwell Basketball office at 606 High Street, Kew, during office hours. The tape will also be available at our home venues when Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) competition resumes on January 30. We’d love to see the photos of your team wearing the armbands, too. Please send them to [email protected] and we’ll share them here and on our social media platforms.

High 5 for Dragons

Camberwell Dragons will have at least five teams competing at the Victorian Championship (VC) level in 2026, with our 12.1 Girls, 14.1 Girls, 14.1 Boys (pictured), 16.1 Boys and 18.1 Boys all doing enough in grading to qualify before the holiday break.

The 14.1 Boys, led by coach Tom Denovan, 18.1 Boys, 12.1 Girls and 14.1 Girls all won crossover games last weekend to secure places in the prestigious VC competition and joined our 16.1 Boys, who took care of business earlier in grading.

Next up for our junior Dragons is the annual Eltham Dandenong Junior Basketball Tournament (January 23-26). The Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL) Grading Phase resumes in February.
