CGSC and Camberwell Basketball – which includes the Camberwell Dragons, the Community Basketball League, and a wide range of on and off-court development programs – will work closely together to deliver a range of opportunities to students, including:

• Access to high-level coaching
• Skill development sessions
• And potential pathways into local competitions

– Grossman buried a club record nine three-pointers on her way to a game-high 31 points as our Youth League Women pulled away for a big home win against Ballarat at Balwyn High School on Sunday.

– Johnson finished with a 27-point, 14-rebound double-double to lead our Youth League Women past Western Port at Somerville on Saturday night.

– Marcun led the way with 29 points, including four three-pointers, for our Youth League Men, who couldn’t hold back Ballarat after half-time at Balwyn High School on Sunday afternoon.

– Andre had a 17-point (including five three-pointers), 11-assist double-double for our Championship Men, who opened their weekend with a 114-104 win against Blackburn at Boroondara on Saturday.

– Hart closed with 23 points and six rebounds the next day as our Championship Men fell on the road against league leader Hume City at Broadmeadows.

– And Stagoll played all 40 minutes for a 10-point, 10-rebound, four-assist return in our Division 1 Women’s team’s loss to league-leading Craigieburn at BSC.

Maddy Grossman celebrated her 50th Big V game in style, landing nine three-pointers on her way to a game-31 points as our Youth League Women cruised past Ballarat in their Pink Round clash at Balwyn High School on Sunday.

On an afternoon that centre Sophie Jones also celebrated her 50th game for Camberwell, the fired-up Dragons set up their victory with a 57-31 first half and never looked back on their way to a 110-63 win.

While Grossman had it going from deep in this one (9-of-21 from the three-point line), she had plenty of helpers.

Zoe Johnson reeled in 16 rebounds to go with 15 points, Ciara Newman pulled down 15 boards and blocked two shots, Ava Kirkwood had 18 points in just over 16 minutes and Jones marked her 50th game with nine points and eight boards.

It was the second win of the weekend for the Dragons, who crushed Western Port on the road at Somerville on Saturday and closed Round 10 in third place with a 10-3 record.

In other Dragons games on Sunday, Ballarat had too much for our Youth League Men at Balwyn High, outscoring its host 44-29 in the second half on its way to a 90-77 win. Matt Marcun with a game-high 29 points and three steals for Camberwell.

And league leader Hume City was too hot for our Championship Men to handle at Broadmeadows. The Broncos won it, 121-99. Sean Conway (pictured) paced the Dragons with 33 points, 13 rebounds and three assists, and Matt Hart added 23 points and six rebounds.

Big V Pink Round action continues for the Dragons today, with our Youth League teams featuring in a double-header against Ballarat at Balwyn High, and our Championship Men on the road at Hume City.

The YLW, coming off a big road win against Western Port at Somerville last night, tip things off with a 12pm date against Ballarat at Balwyn High School, before our YLM step out at 2pm – that one also against the Miners.

And our Champ Men, who held off Blackburn in a high-scoring shootout at Boroondara Sports Complex last night, face a tough challenge on the road today against second-placed Hume City at Broadmeadows (3pm).

– Conway, playing just his third game for the Dragons, erupted for 39 points and 13 rebounds as our Champ Men delivered their most complete performance of the season in a 110-85 win against Sunbury at Boroondara Sports Complex on Saturday night. He’s posted three straight double-doubles and averaged 29 points and 12 boards a game in his first three outings for Camberwell.

– Fyffe led the way with 15 points, 12 rebounds, four steals and four assists for our Division 1 Women, who held off visiting Chelsea for a 61-57 win at Boroondara on Saturday. It was the fourth straight win for the Dragons, who were celebrating Rachel Jeffers’ 200th Big V game.

Our Big V Division 1 Women held off Chelsea at Boroondara Sports Complex on Saturday night to deliver Rachel Jeffers (nee Bett) a hard-fought 61-57 win in her 200th Big V game.

On a night when Jeffers (pictured) became the first Dragons women’s player to reach the 200-game milestone – and only the second player in club history – Camberwell didn’t have it all its own way against a feisty Gulls team that didn’t drop without a fight.

Tilly Grech finished with a team-high 16 points and captain Gemma Fyffe had 15 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and four steals to lead the Dragons, who stretched their winning streak to four and closed the night in third place with a 6-3 record. Chelsea dropped to 2-6.

The D1 Women are back at BSC next Saturday for a 5pm date with Craigieburn.

While the D1 Women had to grind it out in a low-scoring game, our Championship Men shrugged off their slow start to the season to demolish visiting Sunbury in the second game of last night’s double header.

In their most complete game of the season, the Dragons opened up a 25-18 lead at quarter-time and were never headed on their way to a 110-85 win.

American guard Sean Conway, making just his third appearance for Camberwell, punished the Jets with 39 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and three steals on the way to registering his third straight double-double as the sweet-shooting Dragons put up their highest score of the season.

Lachlan Viney stepped up for the host, too, finishing with 25 points, four rebounds and six assists, while Mike Reeves continued his impressive form with 13 points and nine boards.

Next up for our Champ Men is a Big V Pink Round clash with Blackburn at BSC next Saturday night (7pm).
